The Tuscany of France
In Lot-et-Garonne, there is a lot to experience. This region is known as 'the Tuscany of France'. The landscapes are beautiful, there is a lot of diversity in agriculture, and there are wonderful views, with a pleasant climate and warm summers. What you definitely shouldn't miss in July and August is the Marché gourmand, or the gourmet market. On the square, there are stalls with various types of food: bread, wine, all kinds of fruits and vegetables, but also with snails, mussels, or foie gras, the butcher with his huge barbecue, and of course the fries stand. Long tables are set up under the old plane trees, creating a cozy gathering place.
